i woke this morning with pain down my left side just under my ribs can any1 give me an idea 2 wat it cud be please

what kind of pain?If poking pain and having cold sweat it can be sign of cardiac attack(heart attack).If a general pain ...it could be muscle spasm(mastalgia).Apply ointment if yes to 2nd answer.And its good to see doctor soon.Run a blood check on creatinine,CKMB,ALT,AST and as well Creatine Kinase.For heart attack patient this enymes in body would get haywire.See a doc soon.

I agree, it could be kidney stones, but it could be something else. It could be gal stones too? But I had kidney stones a month ago, and it is VERY painful. But it would be good to get checked out to be safe. Hope this hopes.

It can be gas or it can be kidney stone. if it is fluctuating pain it can be Gas and if the ache is constant does not give any relief in any position then there is a posiblity of kidney stone..try to climb 6 flight of stair and see if you are able to release the gas. or else............................see a doctor.
