When a race is being protested against, it's usually white people doing the protesting. I get so sick and tired of it, racist comments from alot people of my race. In elementary school I was looked down on for being what I am, they assumed I was racist, not all, but most. I had the asians, African americans/black, all against me... well I shouldn't say all. They got to know me and now we're all alright, I can't blame them. I turned on the news the other day, and watched people driving out the Native Americans. Those people were white, every single one of them. I mean I'm proud most of the time, but when i see these things, I become ashamed.

I don't let the sins of my ancestors bother me. I didn't enslave anyone, I didn't massacre anyone, I didn't take anyone's land.

It's the rule of the world, that the whites have always oppressed the blacks. Even today, many whites don't like the company of blacks, they are so prejudiced. But not everyone is like them. You should (and you have) show by your actions that you are not prejudiced. The world needs more people like you. Don't be ashamed. Come out of the shroud of shame and proclaim to the world your firm decision to stand by the side of the blacks and invite your fellow countrymen to do the same. What your forefathers did was a past. It's time to move on ahead to a bright future of love and fraternity across the globe.

You need never be ashamed of what others have done. Be true to yourself and live a good life. Be the change as the person Warrior said. The only way this bigotry will be overcome is one step at the time and the number of people taking the journey. Be proud of who you are. God Bless and keep you safe.

True, some racist whites have done a lot of damage, but you are'nt in that group. You should be proud of who you are regardless of race. I'm proud to be a black woman, but at the same time, I don't agree with some of the things that my race does. You should'nt associate yourself along with a group of people. There's ignorance and stupidity in every race.

And some other is ashamed to be not white. Everybody has been gifted from God. However, being black or white have nothing to do with that gift.. and your gift is that you are ashamed. That is a unique gifts my friend. Whatever you do, don’t follow Michael Jackson technique.
A little proposal for you, the moment you have the shameful feeling, act honorable, admirable, precious, praiseworthy, principled or respectable.

When it is anything but acceptable? Why must whites be ashamed? Why not other races? I'll tell you why. Because the white man is responsible for all the miseries of the world. Just blame whitey. No, you cannot be responsible for your own actions. I'm so sick and tired of this crap. Time to move on.

Be proud of who YOU are. You can't control what other people of your race do. Just like people of other races can't control it. Many people make assumptions about different races and may focus on stereotypes. You can't change a stereotype, but you can change how people look at you by showing them you are nothing like that. Of course that's only if they will let you. It sucks but its how some people are no matter what race. Everyone is given labels anymore. If we can't look past all that things will never change.

To be ashamed of your self because of what other people has done is not good. You did not have anything to do with any of these things, as long as you are a good person an you know it, then your race is something to be proud of, because YOU are representing your race as best you can.

i am african american. and i get ashamed sometimes with certain individuals of my race. when i looked at the news and see some of my people steal or rob or kill. but that does not reflect who i am. first i am a human being. a child of god! you seem to be a very good person. because you do not want people to precieve you by the color of your skin or by people who are the same race as you but remember just because people that are the same race as you do things to other races of color. dont let it make you feel bad for being the race that you are. as long as you know who you are and what you stand for thats all that matters. as long as you treat all people respect and dignity they want precieve you as a racist.

You shouldn't feel ashamed of your country's past. These actions from the past are NOT your fault. What you should focus on is not being that way yourself. If you treat your peers equally, regardless of race, they will learn tolerance and that you are not a racist. It sounds like you trying to be that way as you say once they get to know you they feel differently. Often, parents pass on these prejudices to their children. I think perhaps you will not be one of those parents and will teach your children tolerance and equality for all. Don't be ashamed...
