stay in physical therapy! ice and move as ur dr. and therapist tell u to. i had acl 2 times...working/moving it helped mine to heal as fast as possible! i was on a continuous motion machine immediately after, and this helped me a LOT! also, a muscle stimulator was prescribed by my doc, and it helped too! moving it and getting ur range-of-motion back is essential to ur recovery!!!!
take care!!!!!!

Stay ahead on your pain meds. The idea is to anticipate...medicate before you work your joint and keep up on your physical therapy. It is natural to feel blue a day or two after surgery. Most folks also have one of those days where they feel great and over do it. They pay for it the next day. Pace yourself and be patient...it is like healing a broken bone. In time, you will be whole again.

Do your physical therapy religiously...if you skip out on your therapy now, you will regret it later. Trust me, I had ACL surgery a few years back, and thought I didn't need to start therapy right away...as a result I ended up having two more surgeries to remove scar tissue that had built up.
