Although blue is traditionally associated with boys as pink is associated with girls, there have also been periods in which pink was considered proper for boys and blue for girls, and times when no set color convention appears to have been in place.

Because usually the darker colors like green,brown,grey,blue etc are usually considred male colors if contrusted with the pink,orange,yellow etc thats are more girly..However this is usually because parents of the babies want to show that their baby is either boy or a girl and thats why they choose those colors..When those babies grow up they will choose their own colors that look best for them =P Like we do now..girls wear blue,green , guys wear orange or yellow..etc
