You left the army, and everythin's gravy - you served your country with distinction (you kick ***)

a dishonarable discharge is death - it's worse than a felony on your record
people will look at it and assume your a traitor - you won't get hired anywhere

then theirs a regular discharge, it might have a fancy name too but I don't know it - it's just means you served your time, and decided not to continue

The person had a good reason for being discharge from the army. Like a sickness or something like that.

It means that you were discharged for a reason other than disciplinary, ie an injury which prevents you from fighting.
Dishonourable discharge is usually the result of a major cock-up by the soldier, like destroying one of your own tanks, or stealing supplies.

Means they served their time and did so in an honorable way. They didn't get caught doing anything wrong, they didn't piss someone off, they weren't "kicked out."

I have an Honorable Discharge from the Navy. I served my time and chose not to reenlist. I served with honors, had several letters of recognition and accomdation as well as several ribbons.
