It means that you see the 'humor' or the funniness in the things of life. Some people who can make people laugh have a sense of humo. These people take their own ability to see the funniness in things and give it back to us, but others make people laugh because they are clumsy or they want attention and they don't necessarily have a sense of humor.

I would say they go hand in hand.

People who laugh hard at jokes have a well nuanced and comprehensive perspective on many different angles from which a thing can be perceived. Because of this they can appreciate irony, manipulation of stereotypes, see how one thing strikes another person as well as themselves, etc. etc. etc.

They have wide imaginative and far reaching understandings of things.

Because of this they not only laugh at jokes, but they are well able to tell jokes also.

neither to make people laugh or to laugh. Simply that you can see the humor in situations or you have a lighter approach to life

When we say a "Sense of humour|" it means the persons ability to make others laugh and vice versa. A person with a sense of humour can make life lively and happier, he wont get angry easily even if somebody make a harsh remark infront of him.

It goes both ways. Without a sense of humor you won't know what's funny or not therefore you're probably not a funny person.

Both. They go hand in hand. It's hard to imagine someone who could tell you a great joke, but wouldn't laugh at one.
