This really is nor an unreasonable question. They are similar. Infact doctors have replaces severed thumbs with big toes...so you technically you are probably right?

No. Your thumb is not a toe. Your thumb is what makes you human. We are the only species with an oposable thumb. Because of this we can use tools and create the world that we live in. Try building a house using your feet.

It's the other way around. Your tow is really a thumb. Your feet used to be a prensile, controllable "lower hand". Just spread out your big toe really far away from your other toes (don't break it) and you'll see what I mean. You'll see how your foot is actually a hand.

Yes,Dr. cut off the toe and replace it as a thumb if your thumb is Amputated.They use your big toe and stick it on your hand!
