I enjoy the San Diego Zoo - As a longtime San Diego resident, I've seen the Zoo change over the last 20 years as it continues to be a world-class zoo, for both its animal and plant collections, for animal research and preservation of endangered species, and developing exhibits where the animals are in good facsimiles of their native habitats. The best zoo on the west coast. It is real big. There is a lot of up and down (hills) walking too. It is well run and they make it easy to get around. There are lots of every type of animal there, they have many active breeding and education programs.
They have long been a world leader in "habitat matching" (making zoo environments like the animals natural one) which was almost invented there.
