it is considered a diget... as like the rest of your fingers are also digets, this is not a finger, its just a thumb!

Yes. When describing an injury to the digits of the hand, the thumb is digit #1 the pointer is #2 and so on. That way there is no confusion later should the medical record be examined. Have a great day.

A thumb is of course a finger. Any muscular projection on the palm is considered a finger. Some people even have six fingers. Now please tell what is your opinion?I think you have had enough answers. Now please will you say what you think?

the bone, flange (sp?), is the same it has the same hinge joint and the muscles are the same but since it has different abilities even medicially i belive its considered different therefore not referred to as a finger
