Eddie9551,
I hear you. I've been following the situation all day long, and no matter how I try to explain it, there is no answer to excuse Israel's reaction. I'm tired of everybody being afraid of saying something about it. Israel has this 'policy' that no man will be left behind, thus, when 2 Israeli soldiers were allegedly kidnapped in South Lebanon, Israel rode up with all 'our' warfare and started 'tactical' bombing, destroying Beirut (Capital city) and about 200 dead including 8 Canadians. In turn, the Hezbollah, an outlaw terrorist group, based in Lebanon, and allegedly backed by Iran and Syria, fired right back into Israel. And so it goes. Israel has threatened to escalate the war unless their 2 soldiers are returned. The G8 are in St. Petersburg at their meeting, all asking Israel to calm down, as has the UN, but nothing.... it seems rules apply to all but not to them:
Bottom line, fuel your car - barrel of oil will skyrocket tomorrow, and will probably reach US$100 in a months time.
Peace!

Israel is over reacting, and just to make things clear for you and eggman, Israel is the one who took our land, kicked out our grandparents from their homes, and left all people in Palestine poor and helpless with no weapons, we use suicide bombers not because we enjoy sending our young men to kill themselves but because Israel made sure we have no weapons, no tanks, no war planes, this is the only way we can defend our land, and our rights, every country has weapons while we have only the stones children run with to hit the Israel tank, and what Hezbollah rockets???? Israel started hitting , bombing ,killing two days before the rockets were sent, should Hezbollah stand and watch Lebanon going down to earth? people in Gaza suffered for more than one month, children are killed everyday, where is our right to defend? the two soldiers made all that war, what about the hundreds of people who were killed only in Gaza and only last month, who can defend them?

I think they are more fed up with all the Hezbollah rocket attacks on their cities.
Israel has put up with a ton of crap from its Arab neighbors going all the way back to 1948, maybe they are just sick of the cowardly Arabs who attack them using unconventional warfare tactics (e.g. suicide bombers) and are primed and ready to kick some major ***. They ceded some land in the west bank region to the Palestinians in a supposed peace deal, and how do they get repaid? Palestine elects Hamas to the leadership, and the attacks against Israel increase. Israel can do whatever they want to whomever they want with my full support, and I'm not even Jewish.
