I mean, what do they do in old age?

many are still friskier than hell.
Personally, I know many who have been in happy relationships for years and years.
Also, I know some who are out and about the partying and in the clubs on the weekends.
Many are in places of worship on certain days.
Many play bingo, and the like.
This simple truth is this. Generally, older G & L people do what other older people do. They travel, get out, enjoy the weather, visit friends, go shopping, watch tv., enjoy hot and cold beverages, get their hair styled, drink beer, stay home, watch tv., and all sorts of stuff.

Same as straights, with the exception that they often continue to face discrimination should they end up in a home. They are often denied access to their partners (even in the same home) along with the usualy abuse and mistreatment of professional staff. There currently exist only a few homes specifically for aging GLBT people; whether more of these is the answer, or just more training and watchdogs I don't really know.

I actually know an elderly gay couple. They go where everyone ELSE goes: to warm places in winter (Miami, Tuscon), and cool places in summer (New England area). They also do the same things everyone else does: play golf, go shopping, watch TV, b*tch about the neighbors, and read the paper.
Except for the fact that they both have a man's name, they are like any other old married couple I know...although they DO have a better sense of style!

Many older gay men and women have children; relatives and yes friends that occupy their time. In addition; many have business that take most of their free time. Furthermore, just like heterosexuals, the elderly gays retire into senior homes and communities. However; many are still active sexually, emotionally, and mentally with their lovers; and or pick of the day. Just because they are old, doesn't mean their dead.

To the hell! They contract many diseases, and they can't affort to live healthy as others, pschologically and emotionally point of view.
