The last couple of times I have been on the computer a Computer Associates box has popped up and started scanning (takes like 30 minutes) and then says I have 2-4 infected files/programs. After restarting things are fine for awhile. Since then I am having problems having two programs open at once (like I was trying to balance my checkbook, but I couldn't have my money program and internet) Or internet will kick me out and I'll get a grey box saying something about fail to initialize properly. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on/how to fix this problem?
Thank you!

1.scan your computer with antivirus that already in it, if not get connected to this online virus cleaning site...and follow steps to scan your computer.

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_frame.asp

2.Download Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition 1.06 from
http://www.download.com/3000-8022-10045910.html and
Install it and scan for threat items, finally delete them.

3.You can still download stingerv2.6.0 from http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ and scan PC.

Watch out for performance of your PC.

Hope this helps.

Could be a hacker. Call your internet provider immediately and let them know. Especially if you have a wireless internet router that allows you to connect from anywhere if your house (i.e. on a laptop). Someone could easily get into your private files that way. In the meantime, turn off your computer and unplug the internet connection. If anything's going on, that should stop it. Continue doing spyware and adware scans to remove any/all infected files. I reccomend Ad-Aware and SpySweeper (Ad-Aware is free online and SpySweeper is like, $20 at Best Buy). You would need to run those before turning off the computer obviously, but you don't need to be connected to the internet. Turning off the connection is the easiest way to stop whatever/whoever it is from accessing and transmitting your information. Better safe than sorry!

If you contact your internet service provider, they should be able o give you the best and most detailed help. Good luck!!!

Sounds like a virus! You should do some google searches for "Free Online Virus Scan" and scan your computer. If you don't have an anti-virus and need one, I would recommend a free one from http://www.avast.com/
