Who are the barristers representing them? Apple records, Yoko Ono, etc., How have they managed to protect their intellectual property so well. How does that effect the value of Michael Jackson's portfolio?

Apple Corps is run by Neil Aspinall, a friend of the band since their early days and originally their roadie. It's mainly the band's clout as being The Beatles that lets them have any pull at all, they have a pretty good relationship with EMI.

The recordings do still belong to the Beatles and their heirs.

The stuff that ATV bought was the compositions (sheet music/lyrics, but not the recording masters). Michael Jackson hasn't had control of that stuff in many years thanks to all his debt, it's really in Sony's hands.
