The U.S. is being told by everyone to go home and leave the Middle East. They say what happens there isn't our business. I believe that is why we are there. Because, every body else is fine with ignoring the atrocities taking place on the people in other countries. We have laws against ignoring a crime in this state. If you are at a murder scene and you don't do anything to stop it, you can be found guilty of complicity in the commitance of the crime. If you happen upon a car wreck and you have the ability to rescue the person without harm to yourself and you do nothing, you can be convicted of willing neglect leading to the eventual death of the victim. Why do should the ideals we have stop at our borders. I would be disgusted with my country if we didn't at least try. If the military would of had me, I would of volunteered for service. I want to be a hero also. I know we are responsible for the deaths of innocent civilians. That is the nature of war and why it should be a last resort

Then why is he ignoring Haiti? Why is he ignoring Dubai? Why is he ignoring the African Continent altogether? Because he gains nothing there. You mention not helping in a car wreck. Why is bush ignoring all the other car wrecks and go to an Iraqi car wreck HE CAUSED? If it is our duty to go out past our borders, then he has to help everyone, not just the ones he can gain money from....

Actually, most of your statements about legal liability for non-action in your question are flat wrong. So if that's your starting point, not so good.

As far as invading other countries to topple their governments and change their lifestyle -- if the US wants to do that, we're one of the few superpowers, so there's little to stop us. It's just another example of might makes right.

either you don't know what's going on in the world... or you like pedaling propaganda...

We not only allow, but we help countries like China and Saudi Arabia... that's like stopping at the scene of an accident and lighting a car filled with living people on fire...

and we ignore Darfur and so many other African nations?

If the U.S. played by you're rules... we would be in jail long ago...

we don't all have blinders on like you do...
