How could you put all of this water into a barrel, without using the jugs or any dividers, and also tell which water came from which jug?

Freeze them first. Take them out of the jugs and put the ice in the barrel. You will be able to tell which water came from which jug.

Pour the water into the barrel from one jug, freeze the water in the barrel. Add food coloring to the second jugs water, then pour it on top of the ice in the barrel, and keep the barrel cold so that the ice doesn't melt.

I think SkyWayGuy just about has it.

To stop the ice from melting, you need to keep the barrel below freezing. That will freeze the new water. (note that the water coming in will have to be ice cold, nearly frozen, so as not to melt the ice on contact - still not 100% sure you could do it!). The new water will freeze on top.

Not sure if colouring is necessary, since there should be a line between the two blocks of ice.

Oh, and if the barrel isn't cylindrical, you're gonna have trouble getting any water back out while keeping the two lots separate!

Edit: Hence MONJIT's idea would probably be a better approach!

I don't think it's fair to freeze the water, as it's no longer water, it's ice.

Put food coloring in one of the jugs.

Lay the barrel horizontally on a centrifuge. Pour the water from each jug into opposite ends of the barrel as it's spinning. The centripetal force will keep the water against each end.
