and then you peek over and they are using sweet n low and lemon juice to make lemonade! What do you think of that? Smart for getting a free drink OR cheap for not having enough money to even eat out?

I asked not in a mocking tone.

Haha! That's funny!!! I love lemons and have often ordered lemons so that I could eat them, but not to make my own lemonade. I'd screw that one up! I do think it's cheap of them and at the same time I think it's balzy.

When my daughter was young, we used to order cranberry sauce and lemons for her. The servers always thought we were cruel until they saw how much she enjoyed them. When we ordered iced tea, she'd have the lemon off of our glasses before it even made it to the table!

lol That's so funny. I actually did that once at a restaurant, not because I was being cheap but because I love lemonade and it wasn't beign offered. I asked the waitress for lemonade and she said we don't have lemonade, so I ordered water. When she brought us our drinks my husbands tea had a lemon wedge on it...so needless to say I asked her to bring me some lemons. I thought it was pretty ridiculous for them not to offer lemonade.

I do that all the time. See when you buy soda, you're making a pointless expence (and indulging in unnessary calories) so why not be a cheapo and drink home made lemonade! The more money you save the more you have. It's the people that don't make pointless expenses who become millionares. You may be laughing at them but theyre laughing at you!!

I do it all the time. It is not a matter of getting it free. For me it is that I do not drink sweet drinks so that way with the water and lemon I can add the sweet and low and it will still be a low calorie drink.

I have never actually had anyone do that where I work (at a restaurant), but I have heard of it. Where I work you can get a lemonade for 1.59 with free refills. I think it tastes good, but I guess maybe some people like mixing it themselves. I don't really question what my customers do, I just get what they ask for.

a little lemon in your water is cool, but making lemonade at the table is textbook cheap!

my mother does that all the time. But it isnt because she's cheap. She has Lou Gehrig's disease and is on a diet plan that excludes colored/sugared/caffinated drinks. So it makes the water taste better!
