Yeah, you have a tiny rupture in the umbilical sack, it's not anything to worry about really. Ask your doctor though if it becomes more abundant. There's a slight risk of "dry birth" but I really wouldn't worry unless the discharge is more like a "flow" of liquid. Then they may have to induce labor.

Ok, first of all, some of the answers you hve gotten are stupid. Have you lost your mucus plug? That is the plug of mucus that is in your cervix that keeps bacteria and germs out. Your mucus plug is kind of a gross snotty looking bit of tissue. You'll know if you've lost it. If so, it could be placental fluid or it could just be urine! :) Pressure on your bladder could make you leak urine without you knowing it. Once the baby has turned upside down, its normal to have alot of pressure in the pelvis. 38 weeks is absolutely normal gestation, btw. Go have that baby! :) Good luck!

lol wow.. you've gotten some wierd answers on here.. placental leaks and dry births.. haha..
anywyas, your discharge becomes very different as you get closer to delivery, and it can go between what you have - very watery - to very thick and mucusy. Just before I had my son, it actually got thicker feeling and almost gel like globs. ( it may ahve been he mucus plug)
good luck on your delivery, I had my son 2 weeks early, so be ready! :) I had lots of stuff planned to do that weekend that never got done.. lol

You are having prenatal care, aren't you? Your doctor will know better than any guesses we could give. you need to be talking with a professional about this. This is your baby's welfare we are talking about here. Something could be seriously wrong. Don't put off calling your doctor!

It should be normal as the delivery time is close. You the fluid keeps the baby up and safe if the discharge of fluid is more than normal please consult your doctor.
