when I open my emails some sections are blocked with a red x in a box how do i fix this?

Perhaps the image is blocked by parental software?

Or blocked by ad-blocker? Etc.

those are infact done by the popup blocker in your computer.they prevent some parts to be opened especially pictures and advertisements.

Yours software will not allow embedded images. Deal with it sometimes they link to Trojans.
