the most missed player was of course ETO'O.its bad for a very good player to have a mediocre team like CAMEROON.
he is a cut above the rest.
also CISSE was missed due to his sudden injury.
and i must say CZECHS missed their strikers MILAN BAROS and KOLLER.
also i think ,though he played matches ,FRANK LAMPARD was a certain miss from the CUP.

Well, I would of course say Pele, but of current players...Yeah, I would go with Samuel Eto'o, of Cameroon. That guy is perhaps the very best striker in the world right now, in my opinion. Ryan Giggs is another player that comes to mind.

i guess i'll pick Djibril Cisse ,it's really disapointing forhim that he can't participate the world cup , it is a dream for most of a player to be called for the national team in an event such as world cup.

Nesta. He played only two or three games, and couldn't continue because he was injured. He's an excellent defender, and with Cannavaro they make an awesome duo.

it was Lionel Messi although he played a game but for aplayer of his caliber and quality that was extremely cruel by Pekerman i think that Argentina could have won if Messi was given a chance against Germany in their QF match

i know your question is about players that missed the cup entirley and i guess you are right about the two players you 've mentioned but if you talk about missing a player at any point of time it would have to be Zidane and his sad exit ...his fans definitly miss him...bonne chance zidane
