I think when the public actually votes, we will see a true expression of what the public really thinks politically about the past six years.
I predict that the Congress will flip over to the Democrats. Then the Democrats will have two years to try and keep Bush and Company from imploding at home or exploding over seas. It will be a very difficult task.
However, the other possibility, if the Conservatives manage somehow to stay in power, we will end up in a depression of deflation because the Conservatives can not change direction without admitting defeat, and defeat means bad economic outcomes and the lose of the War in Iraq. So they won't do what needs to be done.
The last six years have been a disaster of historic proportion, and god only know what is in the cards for us by 2009 when a Democratic Government takes over except for the Supreme Court.
Pray folks. I will!

Abraham Lincoln once had the lowest approval rating in all the history of the presidents since they kept track. Naturally, it was during the American Civil War, and everyone was against it by his 2nd term. Only after a hundred years do most historians assert that he was possibly our greatest president ever. You can't judge a president during his term. It will take years to know whether or not Bush was good president. I know he is no Abraham Lincoln, and I know he will never be considered one of the best, but I do know that after we all are dead and gone, Bush's ratings will not matter, only his record and how it stood the test of time. Stop worrying about it. We are having another presidential election in 2008. Then you will have someone else to whine about!

Well, I think you raise a good point. And, I certainly think it's no coincidence that Bush has started to come out of the closet about his real relationship with Vladimir Putin at the G8 Summit. Somehow, the two got their messages crossed and though they were going to the Gay Summit.
Anyway, I'm chalking it all up to a lame and pathetic attempt to garner the gay vote. To me it's just a tad too little and comes a bit too late. But we'll see. I think Ann Coulter will steer the discussion on this one as she has something of a vested interest in the gay story that I think she is about to leak. It won't be pretty either.

My take is that the final public is disillusioned with the congress. even as the Democrats took administration of the domicile and Senate they did so because of elements that they made at the same time with ending the warfare. so a techniques they have not carried out something in any respect. rather of ending the warfare they subsidized down on their promise of not backing right down to Bush on funding the warfare inspite of understanding that he may veto any bill that had a withdrawal date. in case you bypass lower back to purely beforehand the superb elections, the Republican managed Congress had very low rankings and the Democrats were able to achieve sufficient seats to receive administration. the folk were pissed then and now they're lower back. Makes for an extremely curious next Congressional election

I agree. Had we fought this war without lace edged linen table covers, the polls would have dipped for a few weeks but then rebounded. But because of the way it's been fought, the ratings remain low.
Honestly, quit complaining. Both parties voted for the war. It's been fought politically correct as the left demands and now no one likes it. Get on one side of the fence and stay there, cause you're making me dizzy.

There are enough believers in ‘Bible belt’ to support anything authorized by Christian right. If they will tell that it's dark at noon, I think 35% will agree. But sensible citizens must show in as many ways as possible their disagreement, even if this is symbolical, like www.impeachbush.org

sure, he can last. certainly possible.
however, at below 40%, he is a lame duck. if he loses control of either branch of congress, and inturn the chairmanships of the committees, then he way not last. If he loses both houses, the lame duck is probably cooked and served over a bed of rice.

Of course he can. He was elected. If his approval rating was 3% he will still be President until a new President is elected.
