I had a dream back when I was in middle school, this is what it was about:

It seemed as if I was in FL (I lived in FL at the time), it also seemed like I was older and in the future. I was on a sandy beach, but the strange thing was there was I could see water on both sides of the beach. It was as if I was standing on a strip of land. Water on both sides about less then a 1 / 4 of a mile on each side. There was others there, on lawn chairs looking at the water. I was there for something, I knew I was there for something. Then the strangest thing happened! Big huge waves came on both sides of the land at once, I wasn’t scared though. Instead I put my arms out beside me parallel to my main body, and opened up my hands. I had my head down, but I was standing up. It was like I was stopping the two waves in their tracks! I looked up and saw the two waves freeze into ice, and the waves stopped in their tracks, while people where just staring at the waves on both sides freezing. I told everyone to run to the main land which was far away actually (It seemed like that in my dream). The other strange thing was it was still warm in the air, not hot, but not cold, so how in the world was the waves frozen?! I put my hands down and the waves stayed frozen and I proceeded to leave to the main land. Then I woke up.

So what’s this dream all about?

lady mage 123 may have beaten me to the punch with her explanation... both of us see the same thing, you are more powerful than you think you are... yet, we differ on expounding its explanation... i think you want to step-in and serve as a go-between between two opposing forces yet you're not sure if you can carry it out (that's the part when you walk away from it). others would be affected and you told them to butt out and let these two forces stay apart away from each other (people running away, the waters staying frozen)... maybe it already did happen, you said you were in you mid-school then, and you had inadvertently never did notice it but you were the contributing force who manage to control it... otherwise, think what events occured or happened and try to relate it to your dreams with this interpretation, okay? ciao...

I believe that dreams really mean things. Whether we interpret them correctly will never trully be known. It sounds like to me that youre dealing with some sort of decisions that you have to make or maybe some stress factoprs and they seem to be smothering you. The fact that you were able to stop the water and frezes it makes me feel that it is a reminder that you are still in control of what happens around you and that you should always believe in the impossible. Be a postive thinker and don't underestimate yourself. It sounds to me that when you were younger like most teenagers we want to rush to grow up but we don't realize that when you grow up lifes stressors hit us from every angle worse then when your in middle school. Pehaps during this time you went to sleep upset and somehow fell asleep visualizing yourself to be at the beach, a very peaceful place. However you were older and you know they say that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Perhaps you were in a rush to be free, to be an adult, to be on your own where everything we be perfect in your mind since you would be an adult! well don't underestimate yourself, you may not be able to freeze water but If you really have a lot of confidence in yourself and you are a postive thinker I am sure that you can live up to your full potential !

Almost sounds like a modern day version of Moses parting the Red Sea.

The fact that you seemed to have remembered it for as long as you did, tells me that the dream must've had a profound impact on you.

It's really hard to say what the meaning could be.
It could be prophetic. It could also have something to do with issues that were going on in your life at that time. Or it could have something to do with something you either saw at the movies or on TV.

To see water in your dream, symbolizes your unconscious and your emotional state of mind. Water is the living essence of the psyche and the flow of life energy. It is also symbolic of spirituality, knowledge, healing and refreshment. To dream that water is boiling, suggests that you are expressing some emotional turmoil. It also may mean that feelings from your unconscious are surfacing and ready to be acknowledged.

To dream that you are caught in a tidal wave, signifies the strength of your emotions, perhaps accompanied by tears that you are holding back in your waking life.

To see ice in your dream, suggests that you are lacking a flow of ideas and thoughts. You are not seeing in progress in your life. Alternatively, you may be feeling emotionally paralyzed or rigid. You need to let your feelings be known.

To dream that you are breathing warm/hot air, signifies the influence of evil around you.

To dream that you are in stranded on a island,(land with water around) signifies that you are in a rut and do not quite know what to do with your life. On the other hand, you may be seeking some solitude.

i think you must search real hard inside you,you must not be afraid to take knowledge when is ready to hit you,i laugh when i read that you ask your self "the water is frozen but the air is not" and you didn't ask your self "how i made the water frozen with just a move?",focus,it is you and anything else, the dream is prophetic, something big is going to happen to you and you are going to stop it,or you may gain it but you feel shame for it "that is why your head look down"

I think the dream meant to remind you that you are more powerful then you think and that you can control your own reactions and actions.

Every person creates a ripple of actions and inactions.

You affect the ripples around you.

Maybe it can a symbolised interpretation of your future sexual life. You might meet a man who at frist is calm and is always with you, then suddenyl he explodes and rushes at you with anger and you manage to repel him. You maybe send him to jail and this is what the freezing symbolises, stopping in mid-tracks
