HAHA! I grew up on rated R horror films from the time I was one. I've seen every trick in the book and can predict every horror movie there is. I saw the first The Hills Have Eyes from back in the day and it was horrible. If I do say so myself, this new one definitely improved by a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale. LOL! But for me, there was nothing scary about it at all. I jumped at one part and not because it's scary like hiding in the couch cushions, it was just something that happened outta nowhere. For the majority of the movie, I laughed my frickin head off. It was sooooo hilarious. If you haven't seen it..I don't wanna give it away, but I'm gonna talk about this one part so if you don't wanna know, stop reading...LOL! When the dude goes in the house and the screwed up guy is in the wheel chair...IT'S SOOOO FUNNY! He's like twitchin the whole time and crackin up and the one guy is like, what's so funny?! And he's like HA HA HA HA It's breakfast time!!! LOL...I almost died. But maybe it's just cuz me and friend laugh at retarded stuff.
Ok, so I'm totally babbling, let me get to the point of your question and my answer. I would give this a 2 because I jumped at one part. And yeah, it's gory. But it's not like, throw up gory I don't think. If you have a stomach for it, it won't bother you at all. Haha....sorry I don't know when to shut up.

I love scary movies and i think this was maybe a 6 on scary but a 10 on goory.

It's definitely not particularly scary. I'd give it a 3. It was very predictable and too much like a Wrong Turn ripoff.

I would give it about a 7. It wasn't scary so much as extremely violent and intense at times.

Hm...
You know how it most horror movies when somebody gets their head chopped off it sortof hides it? Well. in this movie, it doenst do that it just basically shows alot. and there's cannibalism.....soo. to answer your question it wasnt that scary. just gory.
