Okay, my HUSBAND DID cheat on me, and 5 years later we're still married (with only that one time deal), IF I would have known about it when it happened I would have left in a heartbeat, before that, before I was married, and just dating, if ANY guy cheated on me I would have left him as soon as I found out. But honestly it depends on the circumstance and how serious the relationship is, I have (and had) children with my husband when he cheated on me, so leaving him wouldn't have put him out of my life, now if the bastard did it again I would leave (once shame on you twice shame on me isn't that how it goes???) IMMEDIATELY! And take the kids with me, he loves those kids and he LOVES me, so no worries (I say that after three years of marriage councelling).

I cannot answer on the grounds it may incriminate me. I don't KNOW how I would react because I'd loose sanity for a while. I most likely would make him pay but not divorce him unless he did it more than once with no excuse. By making him PAY, I have kept the promise that I do not believe in divorce but he makes restitution for his mistake. I made sure to marry someone who had a very very low likelihood of cheating and I've been cheated on in the past ONCE...ONCE (well, by one guy many times) so I feel I was a good authority to make that judgement. My man would pay royally. I'll just leave it there.

I think you would seperate from him immediately. Then contact a lawyer, get your finances figured out, and find out if you could get alimony from the jerk that cheated on you. Then you move out all your stuff and then send the divorce papers. Maybe within a month. Why, what did you do?

I have been told that I have a black heart (by an ex) if a guy cheated on me, divorce would be imminent and immediate.

I think you would have to do some soul searching before deciding to jump into divorce. First why do you think he did it was it just an opportunistic thing or was it a dating affair. was something lacking an emotional need that caused him to stray. Maybe working things out are easier than you think.

It depends if he stopped the relationship. If the marriage is worth salvaging anything can get better if worked on. Always hope.
