I am thinking about getting my lip percied. now is there anyone out there with their lip periced that can tell me if it is hard to take care of. and should i get both sides done or just one? any imput would help!

I had my lip pierced for several months, and recently took it out because of my job. It did not hurt at all when I got it done.. It will swell for the first couple of days, and this is why most piercers will use a hoop that is rather large. In my opinion, if you take care of it by rinsing with mouthwash after every meal, drink, or smoke.. It will heal fairly easily. I loved mine. As for if you should get it done on both sides, that is personal opinion. I only had my left done. Which now I am considering getting it repierced but on my right side. Good luck to you! Oh, and choose a piercer wisely! Don't go to the cheapest shop!

I like facial piercings, but I have heard that they damage your teeth, I've seen a woman with a stud in the center of her lower lip with two blackened teeth where the back of the piercing sits. So be careful, and ask the piercer plenty of questions about these kind of side effects.

It's not hard to take care of, you just have to make sure you don't get nasty food stuck by the hole on the inside of your mouth. and some places will have to use mouth wash like when you get a tounge ring. One side would be best. good luck.

start off with one side too see if your skin doesnt reject it and it you like it and are able to take care of it.
its actually really easy to take care off. juss follow there directions and you shouldnt have any problems. if you keep it for a long time...like more then a year...you may start to get receiding gum lines. but starting off with one is always better, juss incase. and take into consideration. you will always have a little dot that doesnt close on the surface.

it depends on your face. everyone is different. At places like the local markets you can find fake lip rings. clip them on and see what you like the best. I have my larbret pierced and it wasnt hard to look after when i first go it done. and i know heaps of people with their lips pierced and they havent had any trouble.

just one side would look better, but its harder to get a job when u have facial piercings
