The economy.
Gas goes up, so does inflation, the fed raises interest rates, and then more money spent on home loans, goods, etc. Eg it hurts the wallets. It also hurts the stock market. As inflation goes up, the stock market drops because company profits decrease and most people have alot of money tied up in stock. I don't think people care more about the pump price at heart, but unfortunately it is what shows b/c that is what they are physically subject too. Send them to the war and there cares will invert.

Americans get so upset because we are very babied. We drive everywhere and when they find out that they have to pay more for gas they flip out. Also, people just like to blame the government any chance they can get so that they can feel better about themselves. We are also really selfish. It is always me me me.

Maybe we are concerned about both issues. We need to cut down on gas consumption and just use what we produce. The pres. can take a train as well as the next guy!

It's called the law of proximity. The gas pumps are much nearer to them than the hundreds of dead victims in the war zone. I

Perhaps we would not have the prices we do if we would stop making and selling Hummers!!! Demand always creates higher prices. But to answer your question, it is about money, and the fact that everything that is happening over there, is, over there.
