You may have a soil condition that is perpetuating the problem. Follow the trails back to where they are coming in and try to make it uninhabitable using poison or changing the soil.

Good luck

Follow there trail , see where they are coming from. I go to the Lowes hard ware store and bye Bug -Stop. spray it around window seil or there trail . It is great for all kinds of ant;s and bugs. If you have problems with Red Ants , put some grits around and over ant mounts, early in morning or late in evening. they will eat the grits and drink from the night moister and exsplode, These works good for me. Good luck

In most asian foods stores they have a thing called ant chalk. If you draw a line with it on window sills and in front of doors then they can't cross that line. I'm not sure what the active ingredient is in it because I can't speak the language. But it does work.

If you don't want to use any pesticides you can sprinkle bay leaves around the area as long as children and pets can not get to the bay leaves. It takes longer (several days) for the ants to leave with this natural choice but it's healthier for you.

I don't know if bay leaves are harmful to cats. You may want to check with your vet. I have a dog and sprinkle the dried bay leaves on my countertop. She can't get to them.

We had ants and spiders. Got some moth balls and put under the house and in the attic. Took care of them.

Put a bowl of sugar water on the floor near where you think they might be coming in from. They will create a line from the sugar back to their entry point. Spray that area. Sometimes I put the sugar water on the outside of where I see them in the house. They will be diverted and go to the sugar water instead of inside.
