I would do all of the above things that have been already posted....
drink lots of water,
sleep, music etc.

But on that plane there are a lot of other people all in the same situation. Why not talk to them?? Find out where they are from, where they are going and their plans.. You might find someone your own age who will also appreciate someone else to talk to.

Just remember be careful who you pick and do not give out any information that is too personal, such as phone number, where you live and your full name etc.

Have fun in Australia! You are going to have a ball!

p.s how about giving your avatar a smile??? Coz thats what you'll be doing the whole time you're here!

Sounds like you're pretty well organized. Try and get a window seat so people won't be bothering you when they get up. Speaking of that, walk around a little every hour of so. so your legs and feet don't cramp up.
Bring alone snacks and some water. They usually have a choice of about 5 movies, plus there are video games (pretty lame, your nintendo is a better choice).
It's hard for me to sleep on planes, but one thing that has helped a lot is an inflatable neck pillow...it's made a huge difference, and you'll want to sleep as much as possible.
Have a wonderful time...you will love oz!

Sleep 4 like 10 or more hours, because you'll be tired cuz it's a 24 hour flight, then do the things you chose, hear your i-pod, read a book (take a Looooooong book), take magazines with u, take some of those activity books where you do crossword puzzles and stuff, talk to the person next to you, write a story or book, draw, sing, close your eyes and imagine anything u want (maybe thet u r a superstar, or that u are with the boy of ur dreams, or somthin), that last one should take a long time...

GOOD LUCK, and I hope it helps!!!

I flew New Zealand to Hong Kong to Moscow..2 flights, one 11-hours, the other, 13-hours, with a 30-minute break between flights.

THEN, I flew Moscow to Zurich to New York to Mexico City to Aguascalientes..5 flights, and 4 days uninterrupted flying and sitting in airports. Almost no sleep to be had..I was travelling alone & too scared to nod off in the airports, & too excited to nod off during the flights. I was shattered at the end of it, but not once was I bored. So many exciting things to see out the windows, so many interesting looking people to gaze upon.

I had a notebook to record my emotions and observations, and to write things to go with the photos I took en route. I love reading through that notebook.

Have an awesome trip!

Find out what time you are arriving in Australia and bring along a sleeping aid. Take it and sleep on Australia time. This cuts down on jet lag tremendously. Also and this is very very important - get up and stretch your legs every hour or so. Sitting for that length of time is bad for circulation. Other than that you are covered with music and books. Happy travels.

make sure you sleep! ull have major jet lagg if u dont! if your 17 (so am i) then just think of all the hot guys ull be meeting over here (LOTS OF THEM) haha. um yeah buy some magazines, get some books, get your friends to write you some longggg leters for you to read! then write back! yeah definatly watch the movies!! theres probably not much point in a window seat as ull be flying over water the whole time! but when it comes to landing that would be gr8!
cheers mate.
have fun down here.

Sleep as much as possible. It will reduce the effects of jet lag so you won't be falling asleep at midday when you get here.. Keep the blood circulating with walks up the aisle etc.
Hope this helps.
