I'm putting this out there. I was raised a Mormon so I’m arguing what I was taught. I understand your views and opinions will slightly vary from mine but try to stay with me and the big picture.
The reason why we are here is to receive a body and live righteously to return to our heavenly father. Before we were here we were in heaven we progressed as far as we could without receiving a body so that's why we came here. On our trip to earth we passed through a veil and forgot everything we knew about heaven. My question. If there is a god and we are supposed to live righteously why would he give the truth to less than 1% of the worlds population knowing that we are imperfect beings and power brings corruption which the truth can be distorted for personal gain then sent trillions of people (over time) here to try and figure out why we are hear and live righteously to try and return to him? If I were a creator I would put the knowledge out there as a valid source so everyone knew.

If the knowledge was given freely, would it be worth anything? Just about any religion (not just Mormons) will tell you that one of the reasons to be here on Earth is to be tested so you can go to heaven and live with your heavenly father again. If everyone knew the answers to the test, and everyone knew everything, what would be the point? There would be no trials to face, no adversaries, nothing to learn from. You said you're Mormon, right? Okay, Mormons believe that Satan wanted to be the savior. He said he would force everyone to return to heaven. Obviously that plan was rejected, as he didn't get God's approval. If everyone knew God's truth, where would the decision-making come in? We'd be off just as well as if Satan were the savior, making all of our choices for us.
If that didn't do it for you, read on. How would you expect God to give the truth to the entire world? Appear and hold a world conference? Well, being Mormon, you would know about him appearing to several prophets, including Joseph Smith. He HAS appeared. Even non-Mormons believe in God walking and talking with past prophets. But were he to appear to everyone, or even in mass groups, don't you think God would become less sacred? There's a movie out there that's kinda weird, but has a good point. It's called "The Gods must be crazy!" It's about a Bushman in Africa who finds a glass coke bottle, and having no knowledge of the outside world, thinks it to be some sacred gift from the gods. He brings it back to his tribe, and everyone finds a different use for the bottle. It's a hammer, it makes noise, etc. When was the last time you, or anyone you know has sat down and wondered "You know, I'm so lucky to live in a world with coke bottles..."? Part of something being sacred is that it's not handed out like free gifts at Costco. Sacred things must be worked/prepared for, they must have deep meaning, and they will not be a "every day" thing.
LDS people also believe that everyone will have a chance to accept what they believe, weather in this life, or the life to come. So, technically, 100% of the world will have God's truth, from a Mormon's point of view. I think God has things worked out... he's been God for a very long time!

I think that knowledge is out there for us all to accept but with freewill some choose not to search for this knowledge. The experience here involves searching for the truth (your own truth) and going through all the pain that it comes with. It's a major learning process.

"God" is an entity and source that we can never understand completely. Giving it human characteristics is one of our greatest mistakes and misconceptions. "God" has a perfect plan where everything falls into place. Whether we believe in him or not we all have to live in this place together and deal with pretty much the same things.

Good question. I think because God gave us Freewill and he wants to see us pick paths but he offers us the truth ( The BIble ) which tells us wich path to take or maybe He just wants to see us live : Use us as an entertainment???? You know, see us grow, etc...

We are HERE to worship God willingly. (referred to as Freewill)

We are also here to learn how to love one another, and to learn how to overcome vices. We can not understand God's love if we can not love one another, and if we fail to overcome our vices, we remain separated from God.
