Lie on your back, inhale deeply through your nose and exhale very slowly through your mouth.
Visualize relaxation of your feet, then ankles, etc. all the way up your body including neck, shoulders & jaw, then your arms, hands & fingers.
Both methods work almost all the time.
Also, you can buy a nature sound radio and turn it to the most soothing sound for you.

Well, first of all, don't kill yourself! Really, don't. Nothing in this world is a mistake. You are NOT a mistake. I believe that we all have been brought into this world by God to test us. To test us and at the end decide whether to put us in heaven or hell. Ofcourse there has to be a hereafter where people eventually get justice, you know. So I believe all of us ARE supposed to be here. Everyone has their own belief that they contemplate life with, I'm just saying mine here. And you know, you can't judge yourself on you attractiveness. People tend to be harshest when they criticize themselves. Unless you are a very mean person, you wouldn't see a person and think " Oh, she's unatttractive." You see the nice things in them instead. Almost ALL teenagers have acne. It gets better as you get older. I bet you have some other really nice thing in you. Your eyes, your nose, your voice, your humor, the way you make other people feel... And those people who weren't nice to you at your old job, forget them. They weren't nice, you may not be able to think of an explanation for that except for thinking it's just cuz it's your fault. But that's just because you don't know their whole life, you can't get to know their reasons so easily and you can't expect to. It's not because of you, just know that. And all parents want to see their kids grow up and become more independent. They want to know that their kids can fend for themselves and look after themselves well. Go to college, you will meet a lot of new people there and from them you could get a great friend, or even a girlfriend or boyfriend ;)

First of all, you have a different Circadian Sleep Cycle or what they call your biological clock.
Second, if you want to go sleep earlier at night, make sure you are not taking naps in the afternoon, because when most people take naps, they tend to take a longer naps than they are supposed to. A nap should only goes between 15 to 30 minutes, longer than that you will mess up your sleep cycle.
Third, make sure you try to go to bed at 9 Pm and turn of the lights and all TV's, Radio or your computer. Avoid staying up all night long on weekends and avoid eating or doing work on your bed (some people take their work home and try to finish them in bed, this is not good for your sleep cycle).
Try to take a brief walk before you go to bed to make you a little tired before bed and take a warm shower, not a bath. That way all your muscles are relaxed and ready to rest.
Have a good night sleep.

Take your self to a happy place.... like a nice field of daisies, with no bugs. Then just mentally relax.
Also future reference a sound machine with ocean sounds are great too.

Try sub-lingual melatonin...although it's in a pill form, you don't swallow it, you put it under your tongue, let it melt, and it resets your body-clock...
