I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't understand why everyone can't just back him until this middle east crap is all over and then when election time is here, vote for whoever they want. The ones with the loudest voices opposing him are probably the ones who didn't vote in the first place. I can't wait until I'm old enough to vote.

If people did what you want we would still be in Vietnam. It took an out cry from citizens against our presidents to do the right thing and leave. Support the troops yes, Bush no. If everybody had your idea of supporting their leader no matter what we would all be speaking German. If your idea was correct in supporting our leaders then our troops would have had to fight 30 million Iraqi's instead of what we fought.
What happens if Bush declares war on Canada because it's to cold. Are we suppose to support him them?
This sounds more like getting rid of freedom of speech. Our founding fathers thought that debating and questioning government was healthy. We the people have the right to question what is deemed wrong, if we go by your theory the "shut up and be a good little citizen" then we are no better then China.

We are not at war any more then the war on drugs or the war on poverty or the war on the middle class. Congress who is above the president did not declare war. The war was over when we took out Saddam`s government. We are at occupations and our "Commander-in-Chief" has no military experience for a war or a occupation. You cannot win occupations you have to "Cut and Run" just like we did in Japan and Germany. And I think the question of Americans supporting the troops well Germans supported their troops to so we will always support our troops it is the father figure putting them in harms way. The occupation could of been done sooner,Iraq gave us a chance and now we are back stuck in the green zones, that is the news.

The war is not our choosing. It doesn't concern us except for that we have to pay for it. And it is a very expensive war.
President Bush is the Commander in Chief because we ELECTED him to do that job. We hired him. A five star general beats a four star general, too. But a five star general President bush is not.
Everything in the news is somebody's point of view. That doesn't make it news, it makes it an editorial.
Not all the troops are proud to serve their country. They are proud to serve the United States citizens who live in their country for whom they are fighting.
I support the President of the United States. He is one out of 33 million United States citizens who gets a chance to do his job because by electing him, we hired him to do that.
But that doesn't mean that I support the individual, George W. Bush. I think he is arrogant and self serving. I didn't vote for him because I think buccaneer politics is what gets governments into serious trouble. And that's what is happening now.
I don't support President Bush, but I support the troops. President Bush is no hero. And the kids who are dying there are heroes, but it is small consolation to the parents, children and spouses they leave behind.
Go ahead and support the President. But next time, we need to do a whole lot better than that.

Sorry my friend you are being duped or shall I say dubyuped. It 's all about the oil. Dubyah does not care about supporting troops or anything else..its all about his money and his power and those in his circle.
I am so sorry you and so many others have been led like sheep to think you are supporting some kind of good cause...its all about the oilll.........sorry . war is never a goo d idea...and if someone came here and attacked us (amerika) directly that would be the only time we would want to defend ourselves justifiably. But to go to another country and fight? Should we go to Ireland and fight when they do? How about India the Muslims against the Hindus? which side should we pick? See where this is going...its crazy...and we need to get out now!

Re: "have you ever seen a president fight for his country? The answer is NO". The first 4 or 5 presidents fought in some capacity or another. Geo. Washington sat at the front of the Continental Army
Re: "Our troops are proud to serve our country. They would be happy to die for their freedom too". Proud to serve, yes! Proud to die... Get a real life! BETTER YET, JOIN THE ARMY LIKE I DID!!! 94 Bravo!
I support our troops, but I refuse to support those ignorant liying bastards in office, nor do I support "president" bush.
Rove/Cheney and gang deserve to be making little rocks out of BIG rocks at a nice luxurious prison cell located in a federal penitentiary.

You are absolutely right. Our President and our military understand what many of our cowardly, self-obsessed citizens do not: that it is better for our countrymen to die as soldiers confronting a threat than as helpless civillians blown to bits in our buildings, planes and subway systems. War or no war, thousands of Americans have died and, most likely, thousands more will die. The most honorable among us choose to die on their own terms - protecting the innocent.
You said it well: support Bush and the troops.

I fully agree with everything you said. However, I did not vote for him either time. (something about not being 18 yet) but if the elections were held today, I would vote for him (if the constituton did not bar a 3rd term). I support the president in everything he says and does. He is the popularly elected president. He may do some things that people don't like, but no one can please everyone (but democrats still try 2). That is what I like about the Pres., he isn't an imposter. Long live America and Long Live the Constitution.

I agree that the men who are fighting (honorably) for our country are heroes. But you are crazy when you say they are "Happy to die".
In the real world, leaders are held responsible for the decisions they make. Your infantile position of "we should all just support the president" will just encourage him to continue down the disastrous path he has lead us. He needs to know, loud and clear, that the country is unhappy with the direction he is leading us.
