One of my two favourite bands is on your list (actually, it is my co-favourite band).

And that band is.....The Who.

Top to bottom, this band *is* Rock n' Roll. You have Roger Daltry - one of the most powerful and distinctive voices ever - Pete Townshend - a consummate musician and one of the best songwriters ever - John Entwistle - *the* best bass player of all - and Keith Moon - still the standard for drumming and mayhem, 28 years after he died.

I love this band. I miss Keith and John, but their music will always live on.

Long Live Rock, good lady. Long Live Rock!

No way you could pick just one band. Guns 'n' Roses "Back Off *****" is incredible for the impact of both the music and the words. Aerosmith and "Train Kept A Rollin" is a song that keeps going and going with fantastic interplaying of guitars. Queen "Who Wants To Live Forever" is one of the single best songs to touch the emotions of why life must end. Def Leppard's album "High 'n' Dry" is a coherent sound from start to finish. Alice Cooper hit all the right notes on "Eighteen" and "Schools Out For Summer". Van Halen blew the circuit breakers with "Panama" and "You Really Got Me". Cream's version of "Crossroads" still is worth cranking the volume up. And ...hey, where's Cinderella and "You Don't Know What You Got Til It's Gone"? Or The Scorpions "Big City Nights" and "Still Loving You"?

No contest. Led Zepplin. I have both box sets and the BBC sessions. I also have both of Page and Plant's albums. I even have REM's Automatic for the People that was arranged by John Paul Jones. They are my all time favorite band and while the list you have created for us has some awesome acts, this is an easy one for me.

By the way, while John Bonham may have been the soul of Led Zepplin with his amazing presence on drums, I think John Paul Jones was the mind, since his arrangements worked in most of the instruments in such stellar fashion. Page is the face with the guitars leading the way and making the statement as to who the band was, and Plant was the heart, giving word to what you already felt.

Pearl Jam - Great sound.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - One of their songs is the title track to one of my most favorite movies that is going to come out.

Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Motley Crue, Tool, AC/DC, and Led Zeppelin are good.

The rest are all right.

All very good bands in their own right (well, most, anyway). LED ZEPPELIN is my all time favorite because of the range and talent they have. They were pioneers, they experimented, they sing and play flawlessly.

Their originality is the main factor.
