Culture and proto-culture is based on LEARNED behavior.

1. Teaching someone else to write or read. Humans are a "symbolling" species.
2. Teaching your child to use the toilet. Cultural ideas of hygiene are taught according to the society in which we live.
3. Establishing values of what is "good" or "evil". The taboo of "incest" is different among many cultures but moraes are integral to every culture.
4. Teaching a person how to make a fire from flint and tinder. Tool use and the teaching of it is part of every human culture. This can be seen as far back into our hominid history as "termite-fishing".
5. Teaching another kinship member about your culture's belief system. To continue the religion of a culture (or the lack thereof) is part of the core of any people's norms.

You got lucky! ;) I will mention this though, you should (at least) wikipedia.com any of the terms above that you aren't familiar with. I have put a couple in there that are not as general as you might think and if your teacher questions you on them- you better know why they are valid.
