I own a home but find that the Property management company is so strict that I am fined every month. It takes a letter (registered of course) to defend ones self every month. I can be fined for weeds when there may be 2 small ones that just popped up. I dread getting the mail. I am not the only one having problems but some people who have apparent and blantant problems get nothing. Do I need to brib her personally or what. I hate living here. The board meetings are never convinent to go to ...I'm sorry I ever moved here into this modest community from an upscale one where the Management company would get out and pull the 2 weeds. This woman is on a power trip. Now with the heat (over 100) everyone is pouring water on their lawns and we are in a drought area. Also vast amounts of weed killer are used on their lawns so the management wacko doesn't fine them. Great for our ground water and the enviornment. Any suggestions.
PS Never buy a home in an area where they havean assoc.

If you have a good digital camera, take a picture of your lawn every few days and store the dated images on your computer so you have something to use when fighting back. You might also want to take similar pictures of some of the offensive lawns for comparison. By doing this, you will be building your case for both your compliance to the rules and regulations as well as documenting the harrassement. After compiling a reasonable amount of evidence, address any issue in writing and demand that any responses be put in writing. If push comes to shove, documentation will win the day. In fact, given the frequency of the problem, I would refuse any verbal contact whatsoever. You don't want to be in a "he said, she said" hearsay situation some day.

If the problem persists, hire the services of a real estate attorney. Sometimes a well worded letter from an attorney will silence the power trippers on the Association Board.

Good luck with your problem.

Why go through this agony? You must make yourself available to the board meeting and site your problems and concerns for being singled out. This person obviously has something in for you and the faster you bring it to the attention of the whole board, the faster it may be solved.
