First of all, I love RENT so I recognized those lines right off.
I'm not sure if you were wanting people to guess that you were quoting from RENT or if you were using the quote from RENT to summarize questions you actually have in your own life.
I think everyone asks questions along those lines at some point in their life. It's probably why that song is so powerful for a lot of people in the musical. Just remember, "Forget regret or life is yours to miss. No other road, no other way. No day but today."

First off, if you have to ask, then no, you will not lose your dignity. If you are asking, it means you have a good heart and a good conscious and are concerned about others around you. Secondly, someone will always care, you just may not see or feel it at the time, but they do are there are probably more than one. Third, you are the one who can change it from nightmare to dream. You are going through a experience that doesn't look good but, if you look for it, there is something positive in it. There always is, you just have to look for it and get out of your misery long enough to see it no matter how hard it is. Change your perspective on what is going on to the positive and deal with it as best you can. If you try and do your best to solve the problems, than you will have your dignity as well as your pride for doing all you could. Good luck!!
