Those who lead an interesting and exciting life never watch them. Those that have no real life of their own, find a life in others, like the soap stars. The soap opera almost becomes reality to them, as they escape from th mindless monotony of their dull lives. I have never watched a soap, haven't even owned a TV in 20 years. My life is awesome and filled with real soap dramas, I run hedonistic resort Caroline.

I can't fault your spelling of 'pillocks' but that's hardly the point!
If your idea is correct there are millions of 'brain dead' out there in the world. I consider any fanatical football fan as being 'brain dead' but what you or I consider to fit into that category is not really relevant.
My wife is a soap fanatic, I have mentioned to her that I thought she was brain dead , this opinion was not at all welcomed or appreciated , she even gets verbally involved with the on screen action and gives verbal advice to the actors! But at the end of the day it's all pretty harmless. (I think)??
Your question should rile a few more people up, but the people you are aiming for are probably watching soap and have no time for yahoo!!

No, because it takes a lot of brain power to keep up with the plot. I don't ever watch them, because i don't feel like trying to figure it out, and soaps are not exaclty my cup of tea either. Which is probably a bad expression for me, because i don't drink tea.

I don't think so - I watch them once in a blue moon just for a little comic relief. I can't believe some people that I know have been watching the same show for years.
