I'm planning on going there in a year or so, and I would like to have someone English speaking to have as a friend. I'm planning on doing something to help and would like to compare ideas. I'd be willing to get into something dangerous as long as it saved lives. Or i would be willing to help improve life for someone. I'm learning Mandarin now.
I posted here cause it's not just about travel. It's about people's lives!

I wonder if there's some way I can make a difference with the poverty in the big cities and some rural areas

That would seriously be awesome. I have never really had a huge interest in Asia, but it would be SO MUCH FUN, and it would be amazing to help people so much. I'll come!!!!!! Teach me Mandarin!!! I'm not even gonna say "please." You know you want to.
