Success is the best revenge. I don't like the word revenge, I don't believe in it, but if they're going to be dorkasaureses by calling you a nerd, just ignore them, and succeed! Graduate and then they'll shut up.

Don't buy into the nerd thing! Nerds are more of an image or personality type, You can dress and act like everyone else and still be super smart without being a nerd. If you choose to dress like a geek or act socially awkward; that is an entirely different matter and has nothing to do with your GPA! You should be smart enough to know the difference!

I had a guy at work always call me that. He thought he was really funny.
Finally, I said "this is the nerd that always bails you out when you need help. Keep calling me nerd and I will quit helping you."
He stopped.

It sounds like your friends are jealous. That sounds like a cliche but it's probably true. You could ask them, point blank but politely, to stop making those comments. Otherwise, you can blow the comments off and keep being the successful person you are. In the meantime, you may want to associate with other people who are more your level intellectually... join a new club/ organization that you're interested in, and maybe you'll meet some people who appreciate you for who you are.

Bang out a D in something. Skip a few classes. Get caught smoking in the bathroom. Sleep with the football team. Have a professor's baby. If they dont stop after that, you're on your own.

When people are confronted with their own stupidity, they usually shut up. Next time this situation comes up, ask point blank what your 'friend' thinks is better, your 3.8 or failing every class you take and being a loser.

it will...once you have the big house, nice car, summer home, boat and six figure bank account and that won't include the investments portfolio you're building!
Don't let any of it now or later change who you are...even tho your friends will go from teasing you about being a nerd now to envying you for being a success later.

I graduated from college with a 4.0; I can assure you if they are making fun of you it is because they couldn't get a 3.8 to save their souls and they are jealous. Be proud. You will go far!

not really stop but think of it this way. your nerdy 3.8 GPA will get you the job vastly superior than theirs will be. so they may tease your a*ss now but in about 4-5 years they'll be kissing it

Look it is never going to stop. And if they are your friends they will respect your attempts to ask them to stop. You are a good student please don't let the pressure of your so called friends make you become stupid. Just think what you will be able to do if you continue to do good in school. keep it up and good luck to you.
