Seriously though, this question gets asked here ALL THE TIME. Try searching answers. I have linked to a questions in which a good answer in my mind was selected as best answer. It is a long read, and probably plagiarized from wiki, but what the heck.

When the light from VIBGYOR .i.e.,if the violet light which contains violet, indico, and blue enters in to the atmosphere then the molecules or atoms present in the atmosphere make the light to scatter in all the directions and so the sky and sea is blue.

The sun light reflects/refracts air particles. The color blue has a certain place in the visible electromagnetic spectrum that plays it's part in this. Basically it's the sunlight being bent by air particles. The reason behind nice sunsets too.

i heard that The O3 (Ozon) in atmosphere makes the sky blue; when light passes Ozon, its color turns to blue.
