Depending of your definition of the Apocalypse. If is the end of the Planet Earth maybe some people can escape, but they can go further enough to reach a living planet. Is the Apocalypse is the end of the Solar System or Milky Way we have definitely no future.

In a few billion years IF the humans live that long I doubt that we would be able to blast off seeing as how the sun would expand past the asteroid belt between Jupiter and mars. seeing as how Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Neptune are made of gas we could not land on them, but their moons without an atmosphere might be a possibility. but if we land on the I think we would be smashed to pieces by asteroids. Pluto in the edge of our solar system has a core temperature of about 15 * F. Rule that lifeless planet out... Now we get to the Jupiter belt nothing but rock and dust here. Must move on to nearest star with no guarantee of a planet, oh wait it is too far away, only about 10 light years away, and just so you know that measures distance not time.
personally I don't think humans will survive to see the year 3000

We will be so far in advance of where we are now, in several billion years that we won't have to worry about what happens. We most likely will be beings of pure consciousness and God-like anyway. Having the Earth die when the Sun becomes a Red Giant won't bother us in the least, except as a sentimental thing. We won't even live in any one dimension or universe either. We would live anywhere and everywhere we liked.

If the "apocalypse" is a global one, then having colonized other planets will save mankind. If it's a galactic apocalypse, then Man will only survive if he's spread to other galaxies within the Universe. If the apocalypse is Universal, then only dimensional travel will save us. If the apocalypse is all-consuming, well then that's sort of it, isn't it?

No. Absolutely not. The human race will be split in two, with one half living on the surface in peace, while the other half will turn into cannibals and live underground with Jeremy Irons...

i beleive yes. scientists are already looking for a planet that we would be able to enhabit. and they already thought about how we would get there and all of the problems of living in space. so all they have to do now is find the planet and get their butts moving.
