before you find one there are only 10 species in this generation but if want to know where they are Egyptian fruit bats are found throughout most of Africa, and especially in Egypt. They can also be found in Turkey and Cyprus to Pakistan, and the Arabian Peninsula, occurring in a variety of habitats, from lowlands to mountains.

The Organization for Bat Conservation at Cranbrook Institute of Science says:
Bats are wild animals and should always be left in the wild. It is illegal in most states to have a bat as a pet and a federal offense to possess a threatened or endangered bat species. Please realize that wild animals including bats do not like to be kept as pets, they belong in the wild. Dogs and cats make excellent pets and have already become domesticated, and vaccines are already available and reliable for these animals.
So maybe you shouldn't.
However the alternative pet rescue center in Michican seems to have some looking for homes (http://www.altpet.net/Rescue/MI.html)

Is it even legal to have one? I mean, in most places it is illegal to own exotic animals...at least not without special permits, etc. When I was in college I knew this chick who's dad had a monkey and he had to get all kinds of special permits from the city and county to keep an "exotic animal".

keep searching online or go by the comment above.

As far as the comments go that say "dont own exotic pets"....I feel its ok if they can be owned and the person can properly care for them. Otherwise...we can just stop owning snakes and birds and fish. Good work comment above me man
