I'm looking to transfer to FIT in NYC very soon. Since I have just moved to the U.S. I was hoping to meet and get to know students from this school. I would like to know what I'm getting myself into going to FIT. Would really appreciate if somebody is willing to exchange e-mail adresses with me and tell me more about the school from an insider perspective and a student with one of these major mentioned in the title. Thanks!!!

Congrats--FIT is awesome. You'll probably be assigned to a block of students where you all have the same schedule of classes. At the very beginning of the school year, FIT is really good about putting together all sorts of social events so you can meet other students--also check out the clubs that are set up for accessory design and fashion merchandising--thats another way to meet people who are in those majors and get the inside scoop on faculty and other tips. You can also sit in or participate in Student Council--thats where your student activities fee goes anyway, so you may as well make full use of it. Also check out the student employment area, there are usually postings for internships or even one day jobs that you might be interested in doing, if only to start getting more experience and connections under your belt.

Remember, you're in NYC, in the fashion capital, so its all about making connections (and learning your craft, of course.) FIT is phenomenal in providing you with opportunities to do both.
