I'm 28 and that makes absolutely no sense to me. Why the hell would makeup cause wrinkles?? Sounds like a beauty myth....

If you have an answer, back it up.

Makeup closes the pores of your face, so assuming pores need to be clean, makeup cannot be the best thing for your skin, especially if you use that thick gloppy kind and use it often. If you only wear it some of the time, I don't suppose the result will be terrible.
You will get wrinkles as time goes by no matter what you do or don't do. Smokers seem to get them (wrinkles) earlier. But don't worry about it.
Like is more than wrinkles.

It doesn't cause wrinkles, it ages faster and clogs your skin

COSMETICS and THEIR EFFECTS ON THE SKIN
A thorough skin care program usually means using three products: a cleanser, a moisturizer and a mask. An expanded program will include an exfliant, eye cream or oil, a mask and sometimes special deeper treatments.

The quality of a skin care program will highly depend on the quality of the products that are used in the program. If you use poor quality cosmetics you can actually harm the skin rather than repair it. Poor quality cosmetics can irritate, dry the skin out, or block the pores. Therefore it is critical to check the ingredients of a cosmetic and also the quality of the ingredients. The closer to nature the ingredients of a cosmetic are and whether it is organic can highly judge the quality and potency of the product

It is best to avoid products that contain mineral oil, artificial colors and artificial fragrances. You should take into consideration that often any ingredient that you would not put into your body is also an ingredient that you should not put onto your body. Many cosmetics contain preservatives and artificial colors that can be very bad for your skin. An advantage of preservatives it that it can stop the product from getting contaminated, but in many circumstances they can hard the skin.

It is also a good idea to check out the value and integrity of a company producing the cosmetics that you use. It is important to check if they stand behind their product, where they get their ingredients and how the product is manufactured. It is very important to know the quality of the ingredients and raw products, and how much personal care is put on the product. It is very important for me when choosing a product is who owns the company and what are their moral standards.

If dry skin doesn’t cause wrinkles, what does? Wrinkles are permanent lines etched into skin from environmental causes (sun damage and pollution) and internal causes (genetic changes, muscle movement, estrogen loss, and fat depletion). Nowhere (outside of ads and product claims) is dry skin ever mentioned as a cause of wrinkles. I think one of the theories is that pulling on the skin will stretch it, and therefore cause wrinkles. This would be the worst with undereye concealer, and anything you do to remove eye makeup at night.

The way to avoid that would be to make sure you always apply it and remove it from the outer corner of the eye towards the center.

The worst wrinkles I see on anyone are the sort caused by sneering... those lines that go from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE IF OU FIND GOOD BRANDS AND GOOD TO YR SKIN MAKE UP.

I think some poeple confusse the fact taht they get wrinkles and many deep creases and they use a lot of heavy masking make up to cover it up and that is bad for the skin , it cna decrease the oxigenation of the epidermis top layers and be too heavy for deep wrinkles that would make it seem like the wrinkles are worse.

I am a cosmetologist. I have always loved playing with skincare and make upbut lite make up so it looks natural almost no make up looks.
If one wears a good moisturizer , has a good skin cleansing routine with enough hydration and protection for the skin thats the first step.

second step is to find the make up that won't cause any ohter than a healthy glow that look s natural on yr face.
MAC has liquid foundation that trully makes one's face looks angelic. I personally do not like wearing foundation so I dont use it unless I go to a special event.
I do wear concealer on sun spots and make sure that my lips have some color (Benetint is a tint that stains lips beautifully and smells like roses bec its made of roses).

A lot of eyeshadow wearing if not creamy may dry yr skin too. But today's brands have all ingredients to solve this too.

So just dont go cheap on the make up , that is surely the only way to go to save and have a beautiful face.

I'm 27 and I wear makeup since I was 14, I don't think wearing makeup causes wrinkles, smoking does, too much sun exposing.
People still give 21 when I'm not wearing makeup!

I know that if you wear the wrong kind of make up it can emphasize your current wrinkles but I've never heard that it actually causes wrinkles.

Use a moisturizer makeup. Never oil, always waterbased and at night when you take off makeup use lots of lotion. Always use a spf of at least 15 all year. I am 46 and i have no wrinkles.

I don't think it'll cause wrinkles, but if left on every night all the time it may. Anything you put on your skin that nature didn't intend could cause some kind of reaction after long time use.
