You can't change your friend, but you can try to understand why she is this way. She obviously feels like she needs attention and I would guess that someone in her family is/was sick or injured. She watched as this person received attention she craved and mistakenly tries to gain attention using her health. Talk to her about this. Try to not accuse or belittle her, but gently let her know that this is not the way to win friends, and if she relaxes and chills out, the right kind of attention will come to her.

You could try eating a whole lot of raw inions to improve your breath, if that doesnt work then, and make sure you use the Mango Garlic Pineaple Bannana body lotion from Bath and Body.
If that doesnt work either then ask me this question again. Good luck

Try being blunt with her. Tell her that while youvalue her friendship, you also need your own space. Also, if she tells you about her tonsils again, try saying "Yeah, you've mentioned that a couple of times. It sounds awful." Maybe that'll let her know that the first time she tells it, it's painful ,enough, but to repeat it over and over is torture. :D

It looks like she looks up to you. I know she's annoying, I have seen/experience this before. In fact, I do this a lot to my sister. She sees you as her bigger sister, you get all the friends, she finds it difficult to make friends of her own. She's (BIRG)ING - [Basking In Reflected Glory]. She may annoy the hell out of you, but deep down, she actually is jealous that you make friends easily, so she wants you to herself and damages some of your friendships, but they usually see her as annoying.
She tells that story, over and over again because she has nothing else that she sees as important in her life. It's hard to get rid of someone, the more you push her away, the more she tries to latch on. She has to find her "click", I don't know if there's something that she likes to do, like play basketball or something, if you can find her some people who like to do the same thing that she does, and then come up with an excuse to leave, but you'll come back, like having to drive your mom to the store, you can slowly wean her over to a new crowd. It's a slow process, she'll come back, but once she has friends of her own, she'll won't be such a nuisance. I'm sorry, but she'll always be annoying to you because she'll always want you for herself, if she has other friends, it won't be as bad. But, she'll still look up to you.
Don't bash down on her neediness, like as her 'Why do you keep following me?' She'll avoid the question, because for her to answer it directly, it's too painful to admit the truth.

Just be honest with her. If she can't handle put some distance between you. I have had friends that annoyed other friends to the point they did not want to be around me if I was hanging out with "The Forever Annoying One". Don't let one ruin your fun!

talk to her and tell her that she's been bugging you lately and if she could just layoff for a bit or find her another person she can bug and hang out with for a while.

Stop letting her control your life. Get a back bone and do what you already know what you need to do?
