an indoor fort, a race car, an airplane...he is limited only by his imagination.
How cold is it outside...? If not too cold let him take the boxes outside and play...it will get him out of your hair for a bit and take a little bit of juice out of him...
Good luck.
PS>>>
I have a friend who actually builds a boat from cardboard boxes, using those and clear packing tape...something for him to use this summer...?

How about a marble ramp. Got anything small and round that can roll? Now start with cardboard strips and tape and fold up sides and a few toilet paper tubes and another box and more tape and paper clips and glue and a funnel and a sea/saw and rubber bands and a tip scale, paper cups, tape, tabs, more ramps, down the hall, down the stairs, strings and balances, down another ramp and out rolls the marble!

You can do it together and have races and chalk up points too!
The most fun is building the whole contraption! And constantly testing it! Have Fun! :)
