Google?

Well, Home Depot is the number 2 retailer. Kroger is second behind them in food sales. Target is second behind them in mass merchandiser sales. Costco is second behind them in the deep discount retail world. And the Sears Company (including K-Mart) is a major player.

I guess it depends on your point of view.

I can tell you as someone in the industry, their real concern is Target and the advances that company is making. That is the best bet to someday put a dent in the armour.

But I am guessing this is some kind of trick question, like an overseas company or the federal government, so go ahead, let us have it.

And competng against themselves is a non-answer. Sales are sales even if you canabalize your own locations, as they are currently doing.

Rebuttal: Google isn't really a competitor, they are not the ones profiting from online sales, that is beyond what advertising they sell (and that would also make network television their major competition, a rediculous notion). Add to that the fact that while online sales are certainly making an impact in the marketplace, it is not the massive impact some might suggest, especially in the food market where less than 1% of all grocery sales are currently done over the internet.
