Eh, Wake Up, this is the Clinton-Bush Era and most everyone is so committed to monogamy that they assume that the very first person they mess around with is the person they must stick with until they die. Many of these twelve/thirteen year olds are terrified that they have committed some horrid offense against Jesus if they have more than a single b/f or g/f. Even the homos & Lesbins buy into this monogamy crap which is why these youngsters take the issue so seriously. There is no second chance if they fail in a first relationship. Oh, and of course some has to be blamed if a relationship fails. Haven't you heard Jay Leno pontificate? Calling actresses whores when they end a dating relationship? Welcome to the 21st Century.

I work part time at the movies, well I did. And I saw it all the time. And even when I was that age, I wasn't worried about boy and OMG does he like me, and all that drama. Kids today have changed and are growing up so much faster. Soon, its not 12/13 we are going to be worried about, its going to the the 8/9 year olds. The girls esp dressing up rather provokative. I don't know how their parents let me out of the house dressed the way they do with all that make up on their face. These 13 year olds look 16/17. I feel bad for the guys that mistake these young girls for someone over 18. And a girl lying about her age doesn't make it any better. :(
Enjoy your youth, plenty of time for bf/gf. Just enjoy doing 12/13 year old things. Not dating. I hung out with friends and spent our time outside playing. Not inside playing video games, lol!

Very true! 12 and 13 is too young to be in a relationship with one person...This is the time of your life to meet lots of people and experience lots of things because there's plenty of time later for "love". The youngins want to grow up so fast and the oldies want to act like kids again...lol

ah they think they are in love dont they!
When I was 12/13 I wasnt even aloud to go to the movies by myself let alone even think about what it was like to have a bf.. come to think of it, when I was 12 Boys had germs us girls didnt want to catch! And we thought just from touching them.. Now... 12/13 year olds are worried about catching STD's.. its disgusting! why would anyone want to grow up so quickly.. they will regret it when they get older! they will regret not cherishing those teenage years and living like a teenager!

Amen!
Twelve and thirteen year olds definitely need to get a life, and bf and gf at that age is just plain silly. What's really scary is the number of kids at that age who are experimenting with sex. That's REALLY scary!

Who's to blame for 12-year-olds thinking they must have boyfriends or girlfriends? WE ARE! We allow the TV airwaves to bombard these kids with sexed-up commercials, skimpy clothing, 'cool' language, and movies about things that 12-year-olds shouldn't even know about yet.
We let young girls pierce their ears, wear lipstick and make-up, dress like ten-dollar street-corner hookers, and then have the audacity to wonder WHY they got pregnant!!!
Parents are 'too busy' to spend time with their kids, so their kids find others who are willing to spend time with them, show them any kind of affection or attention, or give them any kind of self-esteem. So kids turn to drugs, sex, alcohol, and cigarettes to make themselves look and feel "cool" or accepted.
When's the last time you, Mom and Dad, have actually spent time talking with your kids, doing anything together as a family, or showing kids the delights of such trivial pursuits as hide-and-seek? No, they're too 'grown up' for that! -RKO-

the worst part of it is they ask about what to do as they are pregnant. i'm not tired of it, but it tells me there are alot of parents out there not watching their kids and letting them do as they please. many date at a young age but in our time, we still hung out with friends and would hang out together. our parents would drop us off at movies or the mall as everyone went there. many today devote their time and lives to one person and its puppy love or lust. rarely does anyone stay together that long. let them get pregnant and see how fast they go elsewhere. they are to young to know what problems are.
