Rust is dissolved with acid. The best product in your case is Whink, a solution of hydrflouric acid, available at Ace Hardware.
Just used it on a carpet rust stain, works great!

You really can't without scratching up the linoleum...the rust is a stain.

comet and a soft brush.let the comet soak in for a little while and then scrub it.do with a soft brush or absorbant clothe might also work.
