Yes, we all have a specific purpose, and unique plan, given us by God, our creator, who sent His son Jesus to die for us on the cross. Nothing is by accident, nothing is by chance, it is called, providence, evidence of a perfect design by God, our heavenly Father.

It's interesting that you used the Forest Gump reference. In the movie, the feather does float around in the wind accidentally, however it eventually ends up right where it's "supposed to". I think that is poetic and a beautiful way to see things, I just don't believe in it.

There is no such a thing as destiny...if there is a destiny and u are a believer then u would have to admit that we are just pawns in a big chess board and god is playing with us...because if our lives are written from the moment we born, where is our capacity to choose? we do things just because some higher entity has decided that we were gonna do them...
If u are an atheist u cannot believe in destiny, since then u would have to admit that there is something higher who determines what are we doing.

I'm in agreement with xaviorof13. As a Christian, I just know God has a purpose for each of us. The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren is an excellent book for pointing us in the right direction. God's purpose is not evident to us, but if we listen to Him, and take His will for our lives into account, we will each find our true destiny, and amazing happiness. You can count on that...
Take care, and many blessings!

Human beings have karma. This nothing more than the understanding that your actions have consequences. Not only in this life, but the next. A person who starts a great work in another life could easily have a "destiny" in this one. It's nothing more than a task they have chosen to undertake over multiple lifetimes.

"There is a Destiny that shapes our ends, rough-hew them how we will..."

Think of life as a card game. The hand you are dealt is Destiny; how you play it is free will.

There are elements of your life that you control. There are other elements that are out of your control.

Do the best you can with what you have. That's all anyone can do.

Good luck to you!

We just meander in the world living on a day by day, day by day and we try live to what we are told is the best way to live. And those who don't aimlessly roam the earth lead people to roam with them.
