i want to know if im in the right weight zone for my age and height can anyone explain to me how to work out the BMI

The best thing is to take a look at how the clothes that you want to wear fits you. If you are a woman, than you should be between a size 4-16 depending on height, and bone structure. If you have a broader shoulders or hips than others than you could be fine at a larger size. If you are male, than any waist under size 40 being fine. The BMI is not that accurate since it rarely takes in the bone structure or muscle mass that some people carry especially if you are very athletic.

it is weight in kg/(height in meters^2)
or i think it is weight/height^2 times 204 in american units

You are aiming for between 18 and 25.
It doesnt account for age or muscle mass so isnt the best if you are really strong or not full grown
