Fully Loaded Toyota Corolla or Semi Loaded Accord? This is for a first car

You need to be comparing a Toyota Corolla with a Honda Civic. If you're thinking about getting an Accord compare it to a Camry, is only fair. I have a Toyota Camry and is a great car. Toyotas in all are great cars and very reliable. Hondas are also great don't give me wrong, you'll be happy with either one. Good luck.

Having driven both and currently being an Accord owner, I have to say go with the semi-loaded Accord. You cannot go wrong. I can't even tell you how much I love my car. Plus, Honda's depreciate less than Toyota's because Honda doesn't sell their cars to car rental agencies. Every quarter, hundreds of thousands of Toyotas are dumped into the used car market from the car rental industry and it lowers the car value. Toyota's are still good cars and still maintain value better than most, but not as good as Honda. I've also owned a Subaru and really liked it, but nothing has topped my Accord. Even though mine is low mileage and not that old, I'm selling it in October to get a new Accord. I love the new body style and they're so much fun to drive. The only caution: If you have a lead foot, you have to watch the speedometer. I find myself going 90-100 mph a lot because it is such a smooth transition and so easy to go fast.

probably a semi loaded accord since it doesn't look akward as a toyota corolla and an accord has nice sporty touch to it which makes a better first car for a young person. accords also don't have a floaty suspension and boring driving expeiriance like the corolla.

Fully Loaded Toyota. Excellent quality car that is very dependable, great on gas and rides smooth. My whole family drives Toyotas. I have a 97 Corolla with 148,000 miles and I've had very few problems with it over the years.

I have owned several Hondas and Toyotas and personally I think Toyota quality is slipping. My current Toyota (Sienna Minivan) has had several annoying electrical problems and door latch problems; very disappointing.

Meanwhile my current Honda Accord just passed 150,000 miles and going strong.

Toyota has had a lot of recalls in the last few years and recently made a public statement acknowleding their quality problems and vowing to fix them.

So for now, If you are looking for long-lasting quality and resale value, I say get the Honda.

(And whatever you do...NEVER buy a German car; BMW, Mercedes; they flat out suck, quality-wise)

Corolla is a bit smaller - it's more economical and has softer ride.
Accord is a bit bigger and has more sporty ride. Reliability is very good for both cars. Corolla is slightly cheaper to maintain, Accord has more power. Just test drive both and pick whichever you feel more comfortable in. I'd pick the Accord - I just like its design more, although I like Corolla too.

I would go with either a Hyundai or a Kia, you can get more car for your money with the same reliability and warranties. I have a Kia and I love it. If you want to buy a status symbol, than go with the Toyota.

Both are great cars. I would have to go with the Honda though. They hold their value. My mom has had 2 accords and they will run forever.
